Wreck - but I think they a both backwards and upside down.Actually they look like the deceased is invoking the universal two-handed 'head*palm' gesture, perhaps with a shouted "What did I do to deserve this?!?" thrown in for good measure.

There's two pairs of hands there- one on each side! And they're praying. Once as the person is born, and once when he or she has died.
