I actually really like this one. I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel like losing a loved one is the end of the world, especially if that loved one was the "sensibility" in the relationship; so, yes, I could see resorting to this. It's definitely better than "Thelma, shut up! Wipe your nose! Feed the kids! Put your hands together and look up if you need anything!"
