I tell my kids I love them more than ice cream, but I certainly don't want that on my tombstone - Note to self, put in will not to write that on my tombstone. I got the reference, I'm married to a nerd...so I'm a nerd by association. hahaha
There is a science fiction story somewhere (sorry, can't remember which author or title of the tale offhand) in which Tibetan monks want to list all the names of God. They believe that when they get to the final name, the universe will end and a new, perfect one will begin. An American team is hired to set up a computer for them to make the listing go faster. As they trudge back down the mountain, they realize that the computer must have finished the job, because one by one, the stars are winking out. Thus, the end of the universe... maybe that's what this stone is referring to?
Tomb wrecks are real tombstones that make us laugh. No photoshop work is done here (except to cover the names of the victims). We know death can be a touchy subject, and no disrespect is intended. We view this as the lighter side of the other side. While we welcome your photo submissions, we absolutely do not condone trespassing or damaging grave markers. Don't wreck a potential wreck! :o)
I bet it's just a sweet something they said to one another frequently through the years (parent and child?) :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to unconditional love?
ReplyDeleteYes, I understood. Yes, I'm a nerd. Nerds are cool.

ReplyDeleteAny chance in the future of putting a text version of what some of these say? I have a heck of a time reading the pictures sometimes :((
ReplyDeleteI'm not a nerd! (I am married to one.)

ReplyDeleteIt is from the lyrics of a love song by the group "Bread".
ReplyDeleteComing in late to this, but the story is "The Nine Billion Names of God". It's by Arthur C. Clarke.
ReplyDeleteBoth numbers and stars are infinite.
